Ice Cream Sandwich and Honeycomb 3.1 announced
It's official! Straight from Google I/O the biggest event of the year for all Android users, Google has announced Ice Cream Sandwich the next significant iteration of Android that will unify both the smartphone and tablet fork of the Android Operating system. Details are a few and far in between except a few demos done at the keynote.
Also announce was Android Honeycomb 3.1 the next iteration of Android for tablets and Google TV. So far this version touts better widget customization and USB host capabilities including support for USB storage and USB based controller like the Xbox controller. This new version will be rolling out to Motorola XOOMs on Verizon first and Google TV devices later this summer no word on other devices.
