We've gotten word from a Fido Nexus S owner that the Jelly Bean Android 4.1 update has been pushed to Fido owners in addition to Rogers owners. This isn't too much of a surprise as Rogers does own Fido, but sometimes OTA updates hit a snag from the parent company to its subsidiary. This is happily not the case for the Fido Nexus S. So if you're on Fido and have a Nexus S keep your eyes peeled for that update notification and let us know how your update goes. If you can't wait we have instructions to try to force the update after the break.
Order is important
- Go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Apps’ and select the ‘All’ tab
- Scroll down to ‘Google Service Framework’ and first ‘Clear data’
- Then, ‘Force Stop’ the application
- Go back then From ‘Settings’ scroll down to the bottom to ‘About Phone’
- Select it and then select ‘System Update’
- Jelly Bean update then starts - If it doesn't start then repeat staps 1 to 5. It will eventually update so just bear with it.
Hope this helps!
Thanks Daniel!
