LG Optimus 2X to get ICS after all?

Looks like deja vu, as LG HQ is backtracking on what was stated by the Canadian LG Twitter that the Optimus 2X would not receive Android Ice Cream Sandwich. According to LG's Korean Twitter account the Optimus 2X is slated for an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich and that it is now in testing phases. As mentioned on Phandroid, we can't see why LG would put so much effort into an update and not push it to as many Optimus 2X as possible, especially in Canada which traditionally is a hotbed for LG handsets.
