Bigger is better seems to be the mantra at Samsung as they made the Note 8.0 official. If you thought the line between "big" Android phones and tablets was blurred, the Note 8.0 just made it worse. The Note 8.0 is by all appearances a tablet with S-Pen capabilities not unlike the larger note 10.1. It seems to be squarely aimed at competing with the Apple iPad Mini but has one feature that really makes this an odd product, it can make phone calls.
If you thought the Note or Note II was rediculous against you face how do you feel about an 8 inch tablet? In any case, the Note 8.0 is packing some pretty nice specs with an Exynos 4 Quad-Core Processor, 2GB of RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, 32GB of internal storage (expandable with microSD), a 4600mAh battery, S-Pen and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Sadly the Note 8.0 isn't packing the most pixel dense display with a 1280x800 8-inch display putting it at a relatively low 189PPI.
Word from Samsung Canada is that the Note 8.0 will be made available in the second quarter of this year. We will get our hands on the device as soon as possible for a full in depth review.
