Looks like the Galaxy Camera was more of a success than we anticipated as Samsung has seen fit to announce a second iteration of the Galaxy Camera series. With the Galaxy Camera 2, Samsung is "refreshing" the hardware of the original Galaxy Camera with a quad-core 1.6 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM up from a dual-core 1.4 GHz processor and 2GB of RAM on the original.
Sensor and glass seem to be the same as the one on the Galaxy Camera with a 16-megapixel 1/2.3-inch BSI CMOS sensor and 21x optical zoom. Samsung does say that the software was revamped which could possibly improve still quality. Other specs include for support up to 64GB of SD Card storage, 8GB of internal storage and a 4.8-inch touchscreen display. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
There is no info on price of availability but we expect that it will be similar to the original Galaxy Camera at $500 and with both WiFi and Wireless Carrier Data connections.
