We had little doubt that the Sony's latest flagship, the Xperia Z2, was headed to Canadian soil but the silence from Sony about the availability in the following weeks after the announcement was a bit surprising. We figure that we now know why, the Xperia Z2 will be a Bell exclusive in Canada. While its direct predecessor the Z1 was available from the Rogers, Bell and TELUS, the Z2 will instead follow in the footsteps of the Xperia Z to be a Bell exclusive.
This will no doubt be disappointing to some looking to get a Z2 on other carriers on contract. Thankfully Sony has confirmed that it will make the Z2 available unlocked to Canadians through Sony Stores. As mentioned at MWC the Xperia Z2 sports a 5.2 inch Full HD 1080p Display, 2.3GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 process (first in a smartphone), Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 3200mAh battery, 20.7MP camera with 4K capabilities.
